Vikrant Massey has revealed that Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s film “12th Fail” has been independently submitted for nomination at the Oscars 2024.
Adapted from Anurag Pathak’s novel, featuring Vikrant Massey and Medha Shankar. “12th Fail” delves into the life story of IPS Officer Manoj Kumar Sharma. From overcoming dire poverty to achieving the esteemed position of an Indian Police Service officer, the film sheds light on Sharma’s remarkable journey. It also highlights the pivotal role played by his wife, IRS officer Shraddha Joshi, in supporting and influencing his ascent in the face of adversity.
Shraddha Joshi serves as an IRS officer from the 2007 batch, while Manoj Kumar Sharma is an IPS officer from the 2005 batch, both belonging to the Maharashtra Cadre.
Shraddha and Manoj initially crossed paths at a UPSC coaching center located in Mukherjee Nagar, Delhi. Their introduction was orchestrated by a teacher who took note of Shraddha’s keen interest in Hindi literature. The sparks of their connection ignited further when Shraddha discovered that Manoj had successfully cleared his prelims without the assistance of any coaching. Throughout their preparation for the exam, their love blossomed, and they became each other’s unwavering support systems. The culmination of their journey occurred when Sharma secured a position in the Indian Police Service, leading to the celebration of their love through marriage.
Rohit Shetty, the renowned filmmaker, recently posted a photo on Instagram, where he was seen alongside the actual IPS officer Manoj Kumar Sharma.
